The term "somatic" refers to an intelligent awareness that a person has within oneself, as distinct from awareness that operates from an outside point of view. Simply stated, to work somatically is to connect with a person's inherent capacity for self-healing, self-regulation and personal growth.

Somatic Craniosacral Therapy is a blend of Myofascial Release Therapy and Craniosacral Therapy. The synergistic harmony of these modalities enhances the effect of Craniosacral work by addressing the fascial and energetic influences on the Cranial System of the body. This work is based on the teachings of influential pioneers such as Dr William Garner Sutherland D.O, Dr Robert Fulford D.O, Dr Randolph Stone D.O and modern practitioners Dr John Upledger D.O, Visionary - Hugh Milne and Myofascial Master - John Barnes PT.

The Academy believes that there is no single source of information, or no single technique approach to Craniosacral work which is sufficient for all needs. Somatic Craniosacral Therapy training at the Academy incorporates skills and insights from these sources and applies them to address a broad spectrum of specific health concerns and applications.

Somatic Craniosacral Therapy is the most advanced course of it's type offered in Australia and has taken over 10 years to develop. This approach will create a quantum leap of awareness, taking you into a new dimension of skill and effectiveness!

The trainings offered by the Somatic approach are considered by many peers to represent the best ever in Craniosacral Therapy education yet offered in Australia and are taught by Australia's most specialised educators in this field.
